Mandarin Conversation
Description
Mandarin Conversation is a practical Chinese course to improve the conversational skills for special purposes, with a major part of the tutoring session on interactive practice with your native Chinese teachers.
Overview
The course content and its delivery method will help you to communicate in Chinese as rapidly as possible. This enables the learner to master basic conversational sentences fairly quickly, and on that basis, through extension practice, to acquire the ability to carry on simple conversations in Chinese. The topics for each session vary and students are encouraged to take multiple sessions to build up their confidence in Mandarin and to proceed to a higher level.

Level Options
There are four levels within this Chinese course.
1. This level is ideal if you are starting from scratch and have no previous knowledge of Chinese.
2. You start with basic words and expression in Pinyin. Then you’ll come to learn about 500 common characters, and frequently used sentence structures and grammar points.
3. Improves basic ability in reading, listening, speaking, and enables you to conduct limited social activities such as greetings and self-introductions in Chinese.
4. Helps you experience and get used to the atmosphere for Chinese language study.
5. Forty-five lessons in all. It is equal to Beginner Level.
1. Ideal if you have basic listening and speaking skills, and are familiar with some simple sentence structures, you already know about 800 Chinese characters and phrases.
2. This level covers 1500 words of a wider range in the Chinese Syllabus. It also involves some special or complex sentence structures for everyday communication.
3. With completion of this level, you should have a good command of basic Chinese vocabulary and be able to string together the Chinese words and communicate freely with them freely in your daily life.
4. Forty lessons in all. It is equal to Elementary Level.
1. Ideal if you have general listening and speaking skills, and know about 2500 Chinese characters or phrases as well as general Chinese grammar.
2. You will learn 3000 words and a wider range of more grammar points in the Chinese Syllabus and practise most functional topics in this level.
3. With completion of this level, you should be able to conduct conversation on similar topics by using more complicated sentence structures and grammar, and make yourself better understood.
4. Twenty lessons in all. It is equal to Intermediate Level.
1. Ideal for those who have better skills in listening and speaking, know about 3500 Chinese characters or phrases, and have preliminary competence in Chinese fluency.
2. You’ll learn about 3500 words and practise more functional topics in this level.
3. More powerful grammatical usage and interacting functions are involved in this level. It aims to improve your ability to express freely your own opinions or judgments in Chinese language.
4. Twenty lessons in all. It is equal to Intermediate or Upper-Intermediate level.
