ChineseHour users can study all the Chinese learning activities systematically with the Self-Paced Courses. This includes phonetics, listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary. In comparison with the live conversation class, the Self-Paced Courses concentrate on comprehensive skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing, so that Chinese learners can achieve their goals more effectively.

There are 200 hours of interactive courses from Beginner level to Upper-Intermediate level. Before you start actual learning, you are asked to take a simple placement test to identify your right starting level. The self-paced courses enable you to enhance your Chinese communication skills from good to better and better to best without a rest!

The Self-Paced Courses attach great importance to language practice. Each unit includes eight sections, in which all the activities focus on one specific topic, and most of the time is spent in intensive practice on topic dialogues. Grammar is explained intuitively and vocabulary is built up gradually so there is no need to memorize any difficult rules or long lists of words.
