The Butterfly Lovers or Liang Zhu is a Chinese legend about the tragic romance between two lovers, Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. It is considered as the best illustrations of true love by Chinese people. Like its Western counterpart, Romeo and Juliet, with which it is often compared, it has been adapted into many different genres over the years: movies, television serials, ballets, operas and plays. Among them, the violin concerto "Liang-Zhu" is most popular to every Chinese people.
