Description

Finals which consist of two or three vowels are called compound finals. There are totally 13 compound finals in putonghua. When you pronounce a compound finals, glide smoothly from one vowel to another instead of jumping from one to another. According to the different positions of the main vowels, compound finals can be classified into the following three kinds: qiangxiang compound finals, houxiang compound finals and zhongxiang compound finals. ai ei ao ou are qiangxiang compound finals.
