Description
The Travel in Chinese is a “must to learn” for those who do not speak the language but have a plan to visit China for either leisure or work-related reasons. It is suitable for beginners, intermediate or higher level learners.
Overview
This course is incorporated with several teaching techniques appropriate for tourists. It not only allows students to learn practical language but to also immerse themselves into Chinese culture and popular tourist destinations namely Beijing, Xi’an, Luoyang, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Guilin, Chengdu and Lhasa. The teacher not only acts as your virtual tour guide to the natural scenery and cultural relics, but explains all the language points as well.

Level Options
Five levels in Chinese for Tourism in all.
1. This level is ideal for students who have no knowledge about Pinyin or Chinese characters.
2. In this level you will learn the basic pronunciation of Mandarin Chinese including vowels and consonants, tones and spelling.
3. Upon completion of this level, you should be able to read and write all the syllables in the language.
4. A total of ten (10) lessons in all.
1. This level is suitable for those who have a little knowledge of phonetic system and those who can read some syllables and recognize a few characters.
2. In this level you will learn some colloquial expressions in Pinyin, such as "Nǐ hǎo!","Xiàn zài jǐ diǎn?", etc.
3. At the end of this level you will be able to use some Chinese phrases in everyday life.
4. A total of ten (10) lessons in all which equals to the Beginner Level of the Chinese Syllabus.
1. You will have learned at least 800 common characters and 1000 common phrases.
2. At the end of this lesson you can travel to different parts of China independently with no worries about communicating effectively with Chinese nationals.
3. A total of ten (10) lessons in all which equals to the elementary level of Chinese Syllabus.
1. You will have learned at least 1000 common characters and 1500 common phrases.
2. You will learn to express yourself confidently in most any complex situation such as taking a taxi, banqueting, hotel reservation (check in, check out), appointments via telephone, shopping, asking directions, etc. After you have completed this level, your language skill as a tourist will enable you to experience Chinese culture with self-assurance and have the ability to immerse yourself in the Chinese lifestyle.
3. A total of fourteen (14) lessons in all which equals to the Intermediate Level of the Chinese Syllabus.
1. In this level you will learn at least 2000 common characters and 2500 phrases.
2. You will gain insights into famous tourist attractions or cultural sites such as Beijing (Great Wall, Forbidden City), Xi'an (Terra Cotta Warriors), Guilin, Chengdu, Lhasa etc, and develop useful expressions for many situations such as watching live performances, TV programs and cinema, discussing the weather, bargaining for souvenirs, and meeting and making new friends, etc.
3. Upon completion of this level your language skill as a tourist will be sufficient to enable you to apply and acquire work in various Chinese industries such as a tour guide in a travel agency to entertain Chinese travelers, or as a hotel or restaurant staff to accommodate Chinese guests and visitors.
4. A total of fourteen (14) lessons in all which equals to the Intermediate and Upper-Intermediate Level of the Chinese Syllabus.
