Legendary commodities investor Jim Rogers believes that Chinese language will have a more promising future than English. He suggests that future leaders should learn to speak Chinese from now on, because Chinese language will be an international language in the new future.
2月22日，被誉为”商品投资大师”的罗杰斯控股公司主席吉姆-罗杰斯（JIM ROGERS）在韩国第二届亚洲领导力会议发表题为”现在我眼中的投资世界”的特别演讲, 传授了长期投资的成功秘诀。原定20~30分钟的演讲因与会者接连不断的提问，被延长到了1小时30分钟。
1969年，罗杰斯和乔治-索罗斯共同创办了名为量子基金的对冲基金公司，12年来创下了年均38%的惊人累积收益率。1980年，37岁的罗杰斯离开华尔街之后，驾驶摩托车环游世界，获得了投资的慧眼。因此他获得了”金融界的印地安那-琼斯”这个绰号。

◆商品投资就是最佳战略

每当与会者提问投资战略时，他给出了一贯的建议说：”就是对商品进行投资。”他所说的商品是石油、黄金、铜、玉米等金融市场上进行交易、一切有实体的东西。
“石油正在快速枯竭。已经有40年没有发现巨大油田，而需求则在迅速增长。中国人的人均石油消费量还不到韩国的十分之一。请想象一下，如果中国人的人均消费量哪怕只增加1倍，情况将会如何呢？”

他表示：”商品市场到2020年为止将持续牛市。这种原理即使不是天才，只要像我一样懂得需求和供应的原理，也能明白。”从1998年以后10年来，在所有资产（股票、债券等）中，商品价格上涨了4.5倍，创下了最高纪录。他表示：”尤其是商品具有其动向与股市相反的特性，因此可以享受资产分散效果。”
◆汉语是未来的国际语言

他表示：”我能给的最大建议就是让你们的子女学习汉语。”他表示：”未来的领导人一定要懂汉语。学汉语将比学英语更有前途。”
“从过去法语和英语的例子中可以看出，有钱的国家语言一定会成为国际语言。”他从女儿一出生，就聘请中国人做保姆，去年9月为了让女儿学习汉语，还卖掉了美国的房子，搬到了新加坡。而对于没有直接前往中国，而是选择了新加坡的原因，是因为中国的空气污染过于严重。
他表示：”到3月我的第二个女儿就要出世，将让这个孩子也学习汉语。”

如此高度评价对华投资的他却对印度表示不安。他表示：”印度的经济开放还不够充分，基础设施环境也过于恶劣。”他反问道：”仅在20世纪50年代，印度的富豪还多于韩国，但现在如何呢？”
